Carjump (now Free2Move) is a carsharing aggregator allowing users with multiple accounts to search and book cars through one ubiquitous app and letting them register for multiple carsharing providers at once.

As a Senior UX Manager, I was in charge of the entire user experience process. I worked closely with the CEO, product managers, and a UI designer to bring forth exciting features rooted in research and user testing.

Role: Lead UX / UI

Collaborative design

As the key UX person, I planned the design of all new features from concept to final UI. I'd strart that process with a kick-off involving all main stakeholders. After key data and expectations were gathered I'd plan all relevant user research including: user surveys, interviews, competitive analysis, user journeys, and team design sessions. Through out the process I'd include developers, PM's and leadership in order to get all perspectives while involving them in the design process.

User testing

I brought usability testing to Carjump by sourcing the company’s first relevant users to test the app. From designing the screener surveys, test protocol, and analysis, to running iterations and presenting results to stakeholders, I made it my goal to have the product constantly validated.

Along with planning in-house tests, I also worked with major external testing services like UserTesting and UsabilityHub, which provided further opportunities and access to user insights.

Deliverables

Throughout the design process, I'd create logic models and focus on key user flows for each feature. With new concepts, I'd always start with wireframes which I would validate early, while refering to our personas.

For complicated designs and larger features, I focused on providing detailed flow and spec sheets to eliminate as much confusion as possible for our developers. When needed, I'd create animations with Principle, and provide clickable Marvel prototypes to further define interactions.

Tailored design

I provided the most intuitive experience for iOS and Android users by complying with HIG and Material guidelines. I also worked closely with developers to refine the app's interactions and spent time QA-ing in order to flush out bugs and UI specs.
